They come in an array of sizes, shapes and designs. Sometimes the number of options for these simple everyday items can be overwhelming. Let us help you to narrow down your options and find the ideal jar to suit your needs!

Step 1: Long Term Vs Short Term

Jar is subjected to LONG TERM USAGE (everyday use of storing ingredients, household items) We recommend: The Glass Jar

Our glass jars are ideal for long-term usage because they are refrigerator and dishwasher safe. Meaning they can be cleaned and reused multiple times with compromises in quality. This type of a jar is ideal especially if you need repeated usage because they can be effectively disinfected many times whereas plastic may be more vulnerable when subjected to high heat.

Jar is subjected to SHORT TERM USAGE (Gift packaging, business goods packaging)  We recommend: Plastic/Aluminium Jar

Plastic and aluminium jars are cost efficient short-term packaging solutions for a lot of items. Cosmetics, business goods that can be either edible or non-edible can all be safely stored in plastic and aluminium jars. Plastic and aluminium jars are also perfect as door gift packaging for many different occasions due to their lightweight nature. Imagine carrying 100 glass jars of gifts to an event with 100 guests! The weight could kill! Also imagine the postage fee for products with glassware packaging, not to mention the risks of breakage if the products are not heavily protected.

Step 2: Subjected Temperature

When HIGH TEMPERATURE is expected, the choice of jar material definitely inclines towards glass or aluminium. For example, when the jar is used to contain or store hot beverage or food, glass and aluminium will be ideal because these materials can handle the heat with ease. They do not melt, there are no leaching of toxic chemicals into your edibles because the melting points of these materials are fairly high. They can also withstand the heat for proper disinfection prior to storing food/beverage.

When LOW TEMPERATURE is expected, all three materials of jars can be used. Plastic, being the more vulnerable material out of the 3, can be used when items stored are not subjected to high heat. Plastic has a lower melting point of 100-170 degrees Celsius as compared to the other 2. However storing household items such as your paper clips, stationery, flowers, change etc are all deemed safe. Store bought cookies or treats that are no longer high in temperature can also be safely stored in a plastic jar.

Step 3 : Ready for the long haul?

If you run your own online business and requires frequent postage of products, this is especially important for you!

Glass jars are LESS IDEAL for your line of business if you use jars to package your products. They are FRAGILE and HEAVY. Heavy products hit harder on postage fees and they are highly breakable if you do not pack your goods with upmost care. Although glass jars are beautiful and have a lot of pros, travelling with them or posting them can be nerve wrecking because of their fragile nature. So please do keep that in mind.

Instead, go for the plastic/aluminium variant instead! Lightweight cost efficient and keep your goods in a leak proof and airtight condition while you travel. You can most definitely travel or post items with ease of mind with these jars. The plastic and aluminium jars are more stable and less breakable when subjected to heavy pressure as compared to their glass counterpart.
